  1. My Anatomy and Physiology teacher in high school and the PT's I intern with influenced me towards the direction of biology. This is only because I loved my A&P class because my teacher made it easy to understand and we had a lot of hands on projects which allowed me to have a better understanding of the topics. I also interned at a Physical Therapy clinic for all of my senior year and summer so I had an up close experience with what I would be working with when I become a physical therapist. I have also always been good at science and grasped most concepts pretty quickly.

  2. My Graphic Design teacher in high school influenced me towards my major. He made it seem fun, and when he gave us an assignment in class, he allowed us to come with any design as long as it fit the criteria. I also worked for my school in a program called Eagle Vision Media where I got to learn new ways to design and gain knowledge on how to use photoshop. Ever since I first learned about photoshop, I've always been into it, and I was also pretty good at it.

  3. I was influenced by my high school advisor in my senior year. I told him that I always wanted to design and create video games, as well as websites to promote the games. He manly told to just search for majors and careers that involve creating websites and designing video games. When I did, I had to choose between Graphic Design or Computer Science. I chose Computer Science mostly because I can not draw and coding seemed easier.

  4. As a kid I have always loved playing video games. In my eyes there is no better career than computer science. I can be able to create my video games and be able to play them for a living. Video games was always my thing and if I can get a professional job dealing with games, I wouldn't miss the opportunity.

  5. Throughout the years I've had wonderful teachers that have taught me a lot and have been a big influence on me, specially my math teachers. For a long time I wanted to pursue a math career related, although I switched the career I wanted to study many times, going from the medical field all the way to being an accounting. By the beginning of my senior year, I was getting nervous by the choice I had to made, fortunately my counselor helped me clear my mind and be able to know the career path I want to follow.

  6. When I was little I used to tell my parents that I wanted to be a pediatrician, but as I grew older I realized that being a doctor was not for me. Technology began to be something that fascinated me over the years. It was wonderful how people were creating things that we could use to make life much easier. So I said to myself well I want to do something with technology, but yet again the older I got and the experience I got senior year with technology left me a little bit less fascinated. When I was 9 I realized that I could draw, and with a talent like that I wanted to put it to use. So then I started thinking, well I like technology and art so I how can I incorporate the two. Then I did some research and found architectural design, and I knew from then that this is what I want to do.

  7. All of my life, I have always been interested in technology as well as video games. I always wanted to know how they operated and the process of making them. In my sophomore year of high school, I had a computer science teacher (Mrs. Neglia) who pushed us to learn code as well as general computer knowledge. She was strict, but always pushed me to try my best. Thanks to her, I had picked up the habit of always putting my best into my work. After taking her class, I pursued classes dealing with HTML and others types of coding. While difficult, my interest in coding began to grow. When it came to declaring a major for college, Computer Science was a "no brainer." What I hope to do after acquiring my degree in this field, is create useful apps and maybe even make my own video game.

  8. I pushed myself in the direction of my major through my personal experiences in high school such as my business club, DECA, and my personal experiences and hardships. My intended major is Psychology with a minor in Business Administration. The Psychology aspect was self imposed in which I had always been aware of not only how my own mind worked, but cognizant of how others mind's worked as well. I feel as though it is important to look to myself for the answers because that is how I am going to be most happy with my career choice, as well as understanding myself better as a person. If I choose to pursue the Psychology portion more, I would look to go into healthcare or therapeutic-type environments to not only use my personal wisdom as an aid to help, but my education in the subject through schooling to better understand different mindsets and issues that many "put down" or belittle because they simply do not understand it. My plan is to dismiss any ignorance and be accepting and knowledgeable of anything that I may deal with. On the other hand, if I decide to go into business, where I grew interest with my experience in DECA and other business clubs/classes, I can use the psychology portion to go into an HR field or some type of relation between a business, company, or multiple companies. It would be ideal and exciting to act as a an adhesive between partnerships and use my abilities to better mend business and create a positive environment while still getting the job done.

  9. Every since I could remember, Animal Planet and Nat Geo was the main things that I would watch on TV. The late Steve Irwin was a huge inspiration towards my love for animals and to take time to learn more about them. He stressed the importance of respecting animals in their habitat and how we should also help them in every which way we can. My dream was to be just like Steve, a wildlife conservationist or a zoo keeper. With the dual major of animal behavior and environmental sciences, I can learn how to preserve what the animals have left called “home”.

  10. My Architecture teacher Mrs. Parr helped show me what it was like to be an Architect, the respect you gain from it, not to mention all of the nice things that come along with it. I was influenced at the start of freshman year to get to the top and Mrs. Parr helped me. I pushed myself harder then ever to get to where I am, with the skill I have because of her. She is my hero and she has helped influence and show me what it takes to be an Architect.
